Reconstruction of Historical Structures in Virtual Spaces using 3D Stereoscopic Vision

This project will create a 3D virtual environment that visualizes passage of sunlight on any particular day onto the main church of the UNESCO-protected monastery of Saint John in Müstair, Switzerland and its Carolingian wall paintings. The monastery constitutes the most extensive and the most comprehensive program of church decoration to survive from the first millennium. With the utilization of 3D vision technology, users can see illuminated paintings and inside view of the monastery with enhanced realism while perceiving the depth.
